Veiled Lady

Is it possible to sculpt stone into gossamer? The answer lies with the Weiße Dame statue in Vienna, a clever deception carved in marble.

In the original drawing, I used fine linework and soft shading to echo the weightless folds of the shrouded monument. Pencil imitates stone imitating silk.
