Cardinal landing

Cardinals are a bright spot of red in the dull of winter, a sign of persistence and hope. The presence of a cardinal is often seen as a message of comfort from a departed loved one.

In the original drawing, I used graphite and layers of colored pencil to depict a cardinal in the moment just before landing.
