Dragonfly with filigree

How can a dragonfly’s wing, only a few whispers thick, be rigid enough to cut through the air at high speeds? How can a paper-thin illusion master the mechanics of flight?

I used leaf inspired filigree, colored pencil, delicate linework, and negative space in the original drawing to recreate the weightless structure of a dragonfly.

Archival giclee print made from the original drawing. Printed on heavyweight matte archival paper. Signed. Unframed. Originals not sold through this website
