Octopus

An octopus possesses remarkable neural anatomy in its arms, each one equipped with nerve networks that process sensory input and coordinate movements relatively independent of the central brain. This distributed intelligence allows the octopus to explore and manipulate its environment with extraordinary flexibility.

In the original drawing, I used bold linework and dappled graphite to capture the fluid, exploratory movements of an octopus.
